THE FORMAT FOR THE COMPETITION
The competition will follow a similar format to the qualifiers with the addition of timing the second jumping round.
Phase 1: The course walk.
As in the qualifying rounds there will be a guided course walk in two groups at the beginning of the day.
Phase 2: The warm up.
Also as in qualifying rounds there will be an allocated time to work in with guidance from the accredited coach. There is space for working in by yourself prior to this session.
Phase 3: The Jumping test
The competitor will then proceed directly from the working in arena into the show jumping arena The course of show jumps will be designed to British Eventing standards for the level of each competition. (BE80, BE90 & BE100). You will jump the first time then have some discussion time with the coach before jumping again. THE SECOND ROUND WILL ALSO BE TIMED AS AT A HORSE TRIAL.
Positive scores will be given as follows for each round
The horse's balance and rhythm
10 marks
The horse's paces and quality of the canter
10 marks
The rider's ability to present the horse correctly to the fence and ride accurate lines
10 marks
The rider's position, balance and ability to follow the horse's movement over the fence
10 marks
Harmony. The partnership between horse and rider
10 marks
Total
Maximum 50 marks
Show jumping penalties as per BE rules for 2019 also apply.
THE CLASSES
This is the final of the series and is only open to eligible combinations. Riders in the top 100 BE list, riders who are entitled to wear the Union Jack Badge as a result of representing Great Britain at any level in the last 3 years and any combination having previously won the championship at the same level will also incur a 5 point penalty.
Prizes 1st- 5th in all classes. Entry fee BE members £39/ Non members £47
Class 1: BE80 Jump Training Championship
Fences will be approx 0.80m
Class 2: BE90 Jump Training Championship
Fences will be 0.90m
Class 3: BE100 Jump Training Championship
Fences will be 1.00m
The time allowed will be clearly displayed at the secretary and will be discussed in the course walk.
