The purpose of the NAF Junior Programme is to identify talented junior riders and their horses that may have the potential for International recognition, and to provide help and encouragement to develop that talent and potential.
The Junior Selectors and the Junior Team Coach work closely with the Under 18 Regional Coordinators and Regional Coaches who will be helping to find suitably talented combinations from the Under 18 Novice Programme.
A programme of training with the Junior Team Coach during the early months of each year provides the opportunity for rider education, as well as their connections. Formal trials at selected venues, and open competitions at other venues, will give riders a chance to demonstrate their potential in competition.
While the Junior European Championships will represent the peak for the chosen squad, every effort will be made for all who participate in the programme to gain from the education and the competition and to have fun while doing so.
Riders must be in the year of their 14th birthday until the end of the year of their 18th birthday.
