A Half Season Ticket is a Horse Membership that is valid from 1 July and runs until 31 December of that year. A Half Season Ticket can be purchased from 18 May, in order to allow you to make entries in advance for events running from 1 July. A Full or Owner Membership is needed in order to buy a Half Season Ticket; Day Pass members are unable to purchase a Half Season Ticket.
Registering your horse
In order to buy membership for a horse you will first need to register the horse with British Eventing*. Registration is free but there are some key pieces of information that you should be aware of, and certain pieces of documentation that you will need to provide. *If your horse has ever been registered with British Eventing before (with you or a previous owner) you do not need to complete a horse registration. If they have previously been registered with you as the owner you will need to log into your BE account, select My Horses, and here you will find all the information in order to purchase Season Tickets/Day Passes etc. If they have been registered with a different owner, you will need to complete a change of ownership. Purchasing a Season Ticket
Once your horse is registered, you can purchase a Season Ticket by logging in and clicking on the 'My Horses' tab when you are on the 'My Account' page - watch our HOW TO video for a step by step guide.
Horses can have a season ticket from five years of age.
The cost of a Season Ticket is based on the Grade that your horse is currently at. Grades are calculated based on the number of BE points that your horse has.

Priority Entry - ballot numbers
If you buy a Half Season Ticket, your horse will have ballot numbers allocated for each month of the season plus two super ballot numbers for use at any time throughout the season. These can be allocated when you make an entry to an event, and give you a higher priority for entry should the event be oversubscribed. If an event has too many entries by ballot day, the entries secretary will stop taking entries and ballot out the excess entries.
Day Pass entries will be taken out first, then multiple entries, Full Members with Season Ticket horses and then entries with ballot numbers on. If you are balloted out on a ballot number, you will be able to use that number again as an additional super ballot number.
If there is an event in the month that you want to do, then allocate that event the appropriate month's ballot number when you make your entry. If there is an event that you really do not want to miss, then use one of your super ballot numbers - these give you a virtually guaranteed entry. Once you allocate a number to an event, that number is deemed to be used unless you are balloted out on it or you withdraw before ballot date.
